Brow Lift Surgery
Brow lift surgery is a procedure that helps patients with droopy eyelids achieve a more youthful appearance, with possible improvements to vision. Brow lift surgery may be combined with eyelid surgery for an even better appearance-related result.
Dr. Kevin Clauss, our oculoplastic surgeon performs brow lift surgery (sometimes referred to as a forehead lift) to treat brow ptosis (drooping eyebrows) or to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead.
Consultation
Your initial appointment will consist of an examination of your eyes, facial structure, and skin condition. Your medical history will be reviewed, and our surgeon will discuss the brow lift procedure with you in detail. Once your exam is complete and we have gathered the necessary information, a determination will be made as to whether you are a candidate for the procedure. If you are deemed a candidate for brow lift surgery, an individualized plan will be created that will meet your functional needs and aesthetic goals.
Recovery
Recovery time from brow lift surgery usually takes seven to ten days. During recovery, patients must limit physical activity and exposure to sunlight. Patients may expect some numbness and swelling, which typically subsides within a few days following the procedure. Results are usually seen two to four weeks after surgery. As with any surgical procedure, there is always the risk of rare, and possibly serious complications. Your surgeon will discuss this with you prior to your surgery.
Eyelid Lid Surgery
As we age, the skin of the eyelids can stretch, which could lead to drooping eyelids (ptosis). Sensitive skin around the eyelids may also be affected by skin cancer, tumors, and other eyelid disorders, which can obstruct one’s vision or result in aesthetic concerns.
Dr. Kevin Clauss, our oculoplastic surgeon performs eyelid surgery (often referred to as ptosis surgery) to treat drooping eyebrows (ptosis) or to address a patient’s aesthetic concerns.
